Photo Contest Rules

Term:

Pinnacle Paintball’s 1st Annual Photo Contest begins January 1, 2012 and ends December 1, 2012, at 12:01 AM Eastern Standard Time (EST). By submitting an entry, each contestant agrees to the rules of the contest and states that they are 18 years old or older.

Who may enter:

Photographers 18 years old or older.

Individuals affiliated with Pinnacle Paintball, including employees, volunteers, and their immediate families (children, siblings and spouses) and others living in their households, are not eligible to enter.

Pinnacle Paintball will determine contestant's eligibility.

What to enter:

Paintball Photographs showing the Pinnacle Paintball logo.

There will also be several special theme categories throughout the year. Special Themes will be announced on the Main Gallery page

Photographs must have been shot by the contestant since January 1, 2008.

High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable.

Digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible.

Each photo must be sent in a seperate email with all the entrant's information.

Photographs must be in a .jpeg, .jpg or .gif format.

Files submitted may not be larger than 2Mb.

Cropped photos are eligible in all categories. We do not accept digitally or otherwise enhanced or altered photos. Minor adjustments, including: sharpening, red-eye reduction, contrast and slight color adjustment or the digital equivalents, are acceptable. If our judges determine that a photographer has altered his or her photo, they reserve the right to disqualify it.

For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must secure a model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian and provide it to Pinnacle Paintball upon request. A sample release is available here.

Photographs that have won any other contests or have been published in magazines or newspapers are not eligible.

Photos that violate or infringe upon another person’s rights, including but not limited to copyright, are not eligible.

How to enter:

Please submit each photograph accompanied by the photographer's name, email address, date of birth, and province/state/country of residence.

We do not accept photographs submitted through the mail.
You may enter as many photos as you wish.
We do not accept more than one contestant per e-mail address.

By entering the contest, entrants grant Pinnacle Paintball a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, for any educational, promotional, publicity, exhibition and all other standard purposes. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. Pinnacle Paintball will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.

Entry deadline:

All entries must be received through the Pinnacle Paintball email server by 12:01 AM Eastern Time on December 1, 2012.

Judging:

Judging will be conducted by Pinnacle Paintball. Winning photographs and selected finalists will be announced on the Pinnacle Paintball web site by the 12th of each month beginning February 2012. Decisions of the judges will be final.

On a monthly basis, Pinnacle Paintball will post the Monthly Winner on our web site in the Monthly Winner's section. Each month may have a theme associated with it. Special Themes will be announced in the Main Gallery page, and winners in each category will be announced in the Winners Section

One winner and one runner up will be chosen each month (from January through November 2012). There will also be up to 22 additional entries added to the finalists (up to 44 entries in total). The Grand Prize winner will be chosen from the finalists by public vote beginning December 12th, 2012, and ending January 1st 2013 at 12:01 AM.

Please do not contact us about the status of entries.

The finalists will be notified of their status by December 7th 2012, and all Finalist Entries will appear on our web site on December 12th 2012. At that time, the public can vote on our web site for one Grand Prize winner. Voting will close January 1, 2013. The Grand Prize winner will be announced by January 7th, 2013. The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law. Pinnacle Paintball reserves the right to cancel the contest or modify these rules at its discretion. Decisions of Pinnacle Paintball will be final.

Prizes:

Grand Prize:

Choice of one of two custom markers (Details to be announced. Approx. value $1,000).

Special Theme Prize:

The winner of each Special Theme will receive a $50.00 gift card.

Monthly Winners:

The winners of each monthly contest will receive a $50.00 gift card.

Monthly Runner up:

Each monthly runner up will be carried over into the next month's contest.

Winners must sign a release and will be responsible for any applicable taxes for prizes.

Pinnacle Paintball reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value at any time.
